Audubon Aquarium - New Orleans

Grownups and kids will love the Audubon Aquarium; it is a fantastic place to spend an afternoon. Sharks, fish, penguins, and otters all have exhibits, and some creatures even have their own shows.

You will not find many attractions for kids in New Orleans; it may be tough for you to find something to keep children entertained. Most kids love animals, so they will love spending time at the Audubon Aquarium. Children will have so much to do there, and they can easily spending hours just walking around. Grownups will love this place too; viewing the land and sea creatures at the exhibits is a great way to learn about them.

You should definitely bring a camera along with you because you will see some amazing animals at the aquarium. A digital camera is the best camera because the animals will be moving around, and you might get a bad picture. With a digital camera, you can easily delete the photo and then take a better photo.

The Audubon Aquarium is divided into different zones; there is an area for Amazon animals, Mississippi River animals, and so on. Finding a specific kind of animal will never be a challenge, which is a good thing. Most people enjoy the sea creatures the most because the tanks contain interesting creatures such as sharks, turtles, and many types of fish. If you ever been scuba diving before, you will notice many of the fish in the tanks, and you can teach your kids the names of each one. Your kids’ mouths will drop when they see the sharks swimming in the clear tanks, and some sharks are even friendly enough to pet.

Some animals at the Aquarium also put on great shows, which are fun watch. The sea otters always get crowds around their exhibit; visitors can see them perform flips into the water. Kids are allowed to feed the otters, but they must know how to behave. The children must not throw the fish violently at the otters; the staff wants everyone to feed them in a nice, gentle manner. Besides the otters, there are also penguins at the Audubon Aquarium, but the staff usually feeds them. The penguins are entertaining to watch too; they usually run in amusing ways when someone tosses food to them.

The great thing about this aquarium is that it has popular fast food restaurants within it. Burger King is probably the most visited place at the Audubon Aquarium, and kids love eating there after they have seen all of the animals. Although the food is good, the menu at this particular Burger King is not like the others; the amount of food you can order is limited. It usually does not take long before you get the food, and everyone will have to eat in the dinning area. Taking the drinks from the dinning area is not allowed; everything has to be drunk before going back to the exhibits.

The Audubon Aquarium has many types of land and sea animals in unique exhibits. Children will love every hour that they spend viewing the animals, and grownups will have a blast too. The fast food restaurants are fantastic as well because they give visitors quick access to food with ever leaving the aquarium.
