Astor Crowne Plaza - New Orleans

For outgoing people, the Astor Crowne Plaza hotel is a terrific
place to stay. This hotel is close to dozens of restaurants and
attractions, which is a good thing for New Orleans tourists.

The Astor Crowne Plaza is a decent hotel of tourists who plan to
visit New Orleans to enjoy the sites. This hotel is located between Canal
and Bourbon Street, so it is in an incredible spot. Not all of the suites
at this hotel are great; a few of them have issues, but they can be solved
quite easily. Overall, anyone who wants to spend everyday and night in the
city should consider booking a suite at this hotel.

The lobby at the Astor Crowne Plaza is unique; there are iron and crystal
chandeliers handing from the ceiling. In the lobby, you will meet the
hotel's wonderful staff; they are extremely helpful and polite. The bar
area is also near the lobby; you can order a Milk Punch there, which is very
delicious. Before you go to the bar, you should definitely checkout your
room, which will be either good or bad depending on where your suite is
located in the hotel.

If you want a quite room, you should pick a suite on a high floor facing
Canal Street not Bourbon Street. Bourbon Street is where most of the late
night parties take place; however, Canal Street is a bit more laid back.
Speaking of noise, another bad suite is the one location between the ice
machine and the elevator. The ice machine is loud on its own, but the
sounds of ice hitting glasses and the noise from the elevator opening and
closing will always keep you awake.

When you finally step into your suite to unpack your bags, you will quickly
notice that the air conditioner will start to work. The A/C has a motion
sensor, so as long as you are moving around, the unit will always continue
to run. Whenever you stop moving, however, and air conditioner will shut
off, which can be an issue at bedtime. If you like to sleep in a cool room,
you will have to remain in your suite for a few hours so that the A/C can
cool the entire room. After the room is cool enough, the insulation in the
walls should keep the suite cool for the entire night.

Breakfast at the hotel is great; it consists of the basic breakfast foods
everyone usually has in the morning. Most people, however, go out to eat,
which is understandable because the hotel is in an outstanding spot. There
are over 100 restaurants and bars near the Astor Crowne Plaza hotel, so
going somewhere in the city to eat is not a bad idea. Getting to one of the
restaurant is possible by walking or by using a streetcar. Walking to have
breakfast or lunch is ok, but you should consider using a taxi if you plan
to dine out at night.

Canal Street and the very popular Bourbon Street are located outside the
front doors of the Astor Crowne Plaza Hotel. This place is a good choice
for tourists who want to see the sites of New Orleans; dozens of stores,
restaurants and attractions are within walking distance, which is quite
convenient.
