The Houston Astros and the Houston Rockets games are great events to attend; being in the stands cheering is a great way to spend an afternoon. Hotel choice is crucial if you plan to visit Houston for your vacation, and you plan to go to a sporting event. The best hotels are the ones that are very close to the arena; the closer you are, and faster you can get to the parking lot. The Alden Houston is a decent place for sports fans, it is within a short distance of the stadium, and the hotel rooms are comfortable too. This particular hotel, however, is generally a loud place; young people are usually the hotel's main guests. Upon entering the lobby, the first thing you will notice is the walls; the walls are unique because they frequently change colors based on the time of day. You will also see a lightshow in the lobby, and it is definitely worth watching. The light moves to the sounds of music; the music is modern, so everyone usually enjoys it. The suites at this hotel are great, the floors are clean, and the beds are ideal for long naps after a night at a game. The pillows on the beds, however, have feathers in them, and most guests do not like this. The problem with feathers is that they make some people sweat while sleeping, but turning the air conditioner to a low temperature helps. The beds and all of the other furnisher are made of wood, and everything is not very new. Some pieces are somewhat chipped, and others generally look a few years old. Everything, however, is very comfortable, which is the most important thing. If you plan to go tailgating before the game, you will not find any ice machines at this hotel for your ice cooler. All ice has to be requested, so keep this in mind if you plan to fill your big cooler with tons of ice. Whenever you enter and exit the hotel each day each, you will quickly notice how friendly the staff is. They all try their best to make guests feel comfortable during their stay; over a few days, they will even start calling each individual guest by name. As mentioned earlier, the sports arena is quite close to this hotel, but this does not mean you can take your time to get there. On game day, fans will arrive early, so you too will have to get there early. Using a car is great, but is it not necessary because some individuals usually walk. If you visit Houston without a car, you can save lots of money because parking your vehicle at the hotel each night costs a day. Sport fans that plan to go to sporting events while in Houston should definitely stay at the Alden Houston. This hotel is close Houston's stadium, so attending many games will be easy because fighting for a parking space will not be an issue.
