Orlando Gator Park - Gatorland

Gatorland in Orlando has gators and other types of interesting animals, so it is a nice place to visit. The only issue with the park is the lack of places to escape from the hot weather.

Orlando’s Gatorland is a great place for kids and grownups because viewing gators is a fun and very interesting experience. Gators usually only stay in one spot; however, watching one while standing a few feet away is quite thrilling. Besides gators, there are other animals at Gatorland too such as lizards and tarantulas, and each of these animals can be petted. Overall, Gatorland is a decent place, but it is not for everyone because the weather during the summer is sometimes unbearable. If fact, the temperature gets up to 100 degrees, which this is a big issue because Gatorland has no shops to visit that have air conditioners. Because of this, this particular park is only worth visiting on cloudy days or when rain in is the forecast. Finding Gatorland is quite easy; there is a huge fiberglass gator head at the park’s entrance.

It cost to enter Gatorland, but it costs even more money to try each of the various activities once inside. For example, it is costs to pet the tarantula; this may seem expensive, but many people generally try it. The best thing to try upon entering is probably the train ride; the cost is very cheap, and the ride last for about 20 min. Riding the train is a good way to view the layout of the park; the train passes through many parts of Gatorland including a swamp.

Speaking of the swamp, it is the home to some of the biggest gators at Gatorland; it is a fantastic area, but the size of the gators may scare very small kids. The marsh, however, does not have gators that are as huge; this area is peaceful, and many local birds nest in the trees. Overall, the marsh and the swamp are nice places at the park for grownup; the feeding show, however, is definitely something that kids will love.

The feeding show is very entertaining; the show consists of people throwing raw fryer chickens into the water so the gators can eat them. The gators usually jump into the air and eat each chicken within minutes, and kids mouth drop when they see it. Guests can also feed the baby gators, but they have to pay to do so; it is not as exciting as the feeding show because the baby gator only eat hotdogs.

Another fantastic activity at Gatorland is gator wrestling, but it is not like actual wresting. This show features trainers who hold the gators down while teaching the proper ways to handle the animal. For the most part, this event is quite humorous and a bit educational, so it is worth seeing. The best part is the photo opportunity at the end of the show; visitors get to sit on a gator for a fantastic memorable photo, but it costs around .

Gatorland is only worth visiting when the weather is right; anyone who visits during the summer on a hot day will not have a great time because Gatorland has does not have any places to relax from the heat.
