The Cajun and Creole food in New Orleans is amazing; most people visit the French Quarter and Bourbon Street just to try this particular type of food. Sometimes, however, tourists become bored after eating the same spicy foods each day; spice food is very delicious, but variety is great too. In New Orleans, there are quite a few restaurant that serve other dishes besides spicy foods, and Angeli on Decatur is one of them. This restaurant mainly serves pizza, burgers, and sandwiches, and the service is generally fast on less crowded days. The prices of most of the dishes are very reasonable, so it is a marvelous place for everyone who wants to try anything other than Cajun or Creole food.
Angeli on Decatur is in a somewhat old building; this is quite noticeable because the interior of the restaurant is a bit rundown. The lighting is very low; some guests have tough time seeing other people far away in the restaurant. Anyone who plans to take a photo during the meal will definitely need a camera with a good flash.
As for the service, everyone is helpful most of the time, but some waiters are not as helpful as others are. A few waiters generally ignore guests at their tables, and the waiters do not take their orders until they are ready. After the food is delivered, sometimes the some waiters are tough to find, which is makes ordering refills challenging. Overall, only a few waiters act this way because most people generally get their menu and their food right away when they visit the restaurant.
Speaking of the menu, it is outstanding, and it contains dozens of dishes that are not spicy. For example, on the menu is a delicious goat cheese pizza, which has flavorful toppings and a buttery crust. The appetizers are amazing too; most of them are big enough to be a meal on their own, such as the Buffalo wings. There are many drinks available too, but people usually like to drink ice-cold beers with their meals. The best thing about the menu, however, is that many of the dishes are healthy; other New Orleans restaurants’ menus usually contain dishes that are full of grease and fat.
Entertainment is available at the restaurant too; live-jazz bands visit at night, and they play in the corner of the building. The music that is played is not very loud, so everyone enjoys it while eating dinner. Very loud music is a huge issue to some New Orleans tourists; some other restaurants in the city book bands that play music at an extremely high volumes.
Another way the staff entertains guest is by playing movies, particularly old movies. For the most part, the movies are good, but they may be not as amazing to kids because they generally like cartoon type movies. The movies are played on a large television, and they usually rotate the movies frequently.
Angeli on Decatur is a casual restaurant for people who want to try food as such pizzas and burgers. The restaurant is dark, but overall, it is still a great place worth visiting in New Orleans.
